Our Opening Debut

Malta Joe’s Traditional Maltese Pastizzi takes The Tucson Culinary Experience by storm! Over 1000 people attended this year’s event and we were prepared with over 1500 Pastizzi samples for them to try! And try they did!! Most of them have never heard of a Pastizzi, (or where Malta was for that matter) but they were about to find out! We were lucky enough to have our booth right at the entrance of the room, (with a special bonus of having Stella Artois giving out samples of their beer right outside in the hall) so as they walked in, with beer in hand, they got an eyeful, (and earful) of Malta Joe and his assistant Julia. As you could imagine I was belting out “come get your traditional Maltese Pastizzi!” We were able to describe everything about Pastizzi and what varieties we had while handing them a sample. Watching each and everyone’s face light up once they tasted it was absolutely priceless!!

Then off they went to taste the food of other local restaurants around the room. We did this for six hours!! Lots of people came back for seconds and thirds and told us that we had the “Best Food There!! We also raffled off two dozen Pastizzi and that went very well. Karen was also there taking orders and handling the raffle for us!
